Gardening Committee Workday – Saturday, Feb 10

All are welcome to join the Gardening Committee this Saturday, Feb 10th at 9:00am. For this month’s get-together, we’ll be focusing on cleaning up the tree pits. No prior gardening experience is needed! If you have gardening gloves, please bring them.

We’ll then head for coffee afterwards at 181 Cabrini restaurant. Please join us!

Water Service Interruption in 870 on Tuesday, Jan 23

Please note that necessary plumbing repair work in 870 which was originally scheduled for Jan 3rd (and which was subsequently canceled due to a snowstorm on that day) as been rescheduled.

The new date for the plumbing work in 870 is Tuesday, Jan 23rd. As a result of these repairs, no water will be available in 870 on Tuesday, Jan 23 between 9AM and 4PM.

Gardening Committee – 2018 Planning Meeting

All are welcome to join the upcoming gardening committee 2018 planning meeting, to prepare for next spring’s planting season. The committee will be meeting:

Courtyard Renovations and Laundry Room Painting

Courtyard Renovations:
Renovations of the 870 courtyard continue next week, with the installation of the ramp’s railing planned for Tuesday, October 31st.

As part of the courtyard renovations, the Board is also looking at other related structural and aesthetic work for that area. For example:

* Reviewing the courtyard’s drainage system and determining if any upgrades need to be made at this time;
* Upgrading our planters and reorganizing the best way to arrange plants and flowers in that space;
* Exploring the purchase of new patio tables and chairs.

The Board welcomes any volunteers who would like to contribute to some of the courtyard beautification projects. We are leaning in the direction of building new planters so especially welcome volunteers who would like to join us. If you’re interested, please let the Board know at wghpresident@gmail.com

860 Laundry Room:
For 860 residents, please note that the laundry room will be painted on Thursday, Oct 26th. The laundry room will be closed on that day as a result.

Exterior Building Repairs to 870 Starting Tuesday, Aug 29

Please note that repairs in 870 will be starting this week in order to solve a water leakage problem to the 870 storage room. L&Z Restoration, our contractor who has handled other exterior work in both buildings, will be doing these repairs. The work is limited to 870 and will be done in the alley behind the building. It will not affect the storage lockers or access to the storage/bike room.

The work will begin on Tuesday, August 29th and should take about 2 weeks to complete. The Board expects very little impact to residents with the exception of potentially some noise during the day while the work is going on.

870 Courtyard Access – August 14 & 15

Please note that there will be no access to the 870 building courtyard on Monday, August 14 and Tuesday, August 15. Pouring of concrete for the new ADA compliant ramp is scheduled to take place those days (the work was delayed from last week).

Elevator Shut Off – Aug 4 & 7

Please note that the Board of Directors has hired Montano Wood Care to oversee repairs and touch-ups to the wood paneling and metal in both elevators. As a result of this needed work, each of the elevators will be out of service for one day.

The elevator in 860 will be out of service Friday, August 4th from 9AM to 5PM.

The elevator in 870 will be out of service Monday, August 7th from 9AM to 5PM.
